Meditation + Breathwork

Meditation + Breathwork

This collection has 5 minutes to 45 minute long meditations that are trauma and eating disorder informed. Trauma-informed meditation is a mindful practice adapted to address the unique needs of individuals who have experienced trauma.

Key Principles:

Safety First: Prioritizes creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where individuals feel comfortable and empowered.
Choice and Control: Emphasizes that participants have the right to choose what they engage with and when. There's no pressure to participate in any particular way.
Gentle Guidance: Offers gentle guidance and avoids triggering language or imagery that might be overwhelming for individuals with trauma histories.
Focus on the Present Moment: Helps individuals cultivate awareness of the present moment without judgment or expectation.
Mind-Body Connection: Integrates mindful movement, breathwork, and grounding techniques to help regulate the nervous system.
Techniques:

Mindful Movement Meditation: Incorporates gentle movements and stretches to connect with the body.
Guided Imagery: Uses calming imagery and visualizations to promote relaxation and reduce stress.
Breathwork: Focuses on mindful breathing techniques to regulate the nervous system and calm the mind.
Grounding Exercises: Helps individuals connect with the present moment by focusing on their senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell).
Benefits:

Reduces Stress and Anxiety: Helps to calm the nervous system and reduce stress responses.
Improves Emotional Regulation: Helps individuals develop greater awareness of their emotions and learn to regulate them more effectively.
Increases Self-Awareness: Promotes self-awareness and self-compassion.
Enhances Resilience: Helps individuals build resilience and cope with challenging emotions.
